That awkward moment when your tripod leads you to Texas...
So picture this: There I am at the Women Presidents Organization conference, surrounded by the 50 fastest growing women owned/led companies in the world, and what am I doing? Lugging around that TRIPOD of all things (you know the one I'm talking about)!
But here's the funny thing about that tripod... it actually what landed me in San Antonio with Sara (yes, THE Sara, CEO of KNOW) to record content at the WPO Conference!
From Awkward Prop to Golden Ticket
So there I was, recording content with the 50 fastest growing women-owned companies IN THE WORLD. Front row access to women making the kind of money that makes your jaw drop.
These women are running massive corporations, closing eight-figure deals over coffee, and expanding globally like it's nothing. And I'm just standing there with my trusty tripod thinking, "How tf did I get here?!"
But want to know the wildest part? These absolute powerhouses... women literally changing industries... are still struggling with the same thing:
They want to belong.
They're tired of being the only woman in rooms dominated by men. They're over getting laughed at when they pitch their big ideas.
And that's when it hit me... This tripod thing wasn't just about "recording social media content"... It was about giving these incredible women a platform to be SEEN.
The whole weekend, I kept thinking about how many of these women had online presences that didn't match their actual brilliance. Their websites were stuck in 2010, their content didn't showcase their genius, and their personal brands were practically invisible. And there I was, the website and brand strategy girly, with direct access to the exact people who needed my help.
Powerful in the boardroom but Nervous on Camera
What struck me most during our interviews was how nervous the average woman was. Despite running multi-million dollar operations, they'd freeze up the moment that camera turned on. They didn't know what to say or how to present themselves.
But in my mind... All I could see the empire they'd built.
The determination it took to get them there.
The late nights.
The risks.
The moments they had to fight to be taken seriously.
I was looking at total badasses... who just happened to be hiding behind their company names instead of stepping fully into their personal brands.
That's the disconnect I'm passionate about fixing.
When these incredible women finally align their online presence with who they truly are? That's how they leave a legacy the younger generation can look up to. That's how they show girls everywhere what's possible. Not just through their business success, but by being visible, authentic, and unapologetically themselves online and in the real world.

What I Learned from the Women Who Are Changing the World
This experience reminded me of something so important: getting into the right room is only half the battle. What you do once you're in that room? That's where the magic happens.
What's truly exciting is the partnership
I'm building a partnership with Sara and the entire KNOW organization. Sara has created something revolutionary... a global platform that highlights women who are changing the world but often don't get the recognition they deserve. What she's done for the women of KNOW is nothing short of incredible.
Teaming up to record the founder stories and give these remarkable women a platform and a voice to share their journey has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career. There's something magical about combining Sara's vision for community with my passion for authentic personal branding.
we're not just recording content... we're documenting legacies, capturing wisdom & creating resources that will inspire the next generation of female leaders.
...and honestly? I'm just getting started.
Because here's what WPO reminded me: the most valuable investment isn't the event ticket... it's what you do with the opportunity once you're through the door.
I'd genuinely love to hear about your networking experiences... the good, the bad, and especially the awkward ones that turned into something amazing.
Those are my favorite!
Here's to embracing our authentic selves,
Jenn
